About the Veterinarian

Welcome to Calm Goodbyes - Your Mobile Vet, a mobile veterinary service dedicated to providing compassionate in-home pet euthanasia and end-of-life care in West Chester, Pennsylvania and the surrounding communities.

My name is Dr. Ruth Eriksson, and I am the founder and veterinarian behind Calm Goodbyes – Your Mobile Vet in West Chester, PA. My mission is to help pets and their families experience a gentle, peaceful, and dignified farewell in the comfort of home.

Saying goodbye to a beloved pet is one of the most difficult moments a family can face. I created Calm Goodbyes to provide compassionate end-of-life care in a familiar, calm environment where pets can remain surrounded by the people who love them.

I have been practicing small animal medicine since 2001, after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. Over the years, I have had the privilege of caring for many wonderful animals and the families who love them.

In 2018, I began offering in-home veterinary services after recognizing how stressful clinic visits can be for some pets, especially during their final stages of life. Providing care at home allows pets to remain comfortable and relaxed, and gives families the space and privacy they need during such an emotional time.

In 2026, I created Calm Goodbyes as a subset of Your Mobile Vet, when we saw the great need for In-Home Euthanasias.

At Calm Goodbyes - Your Mobile Vet, my goal is to support both pets and their families with compassion, respect, and dignity every step of the way.
